This post will be the first in a series of articles that demonstrates the different types of on-ball screens. The classification and naming comes from Coach Jeff Van Gundy via his excellent DVD from Championship Productions titled Executing and Defending the Pick and Roll.
The different types of ball screens are separated based on: -area on the court in which the ball screen occurs -angle of the screen -location of the other 3 players not involved in the ball screen action

1. High Ball Screen
-ball screen occurs at the top of the key, screen is angled to one side of the floor -3 flat along the baseline
